Who performs the treatments at Suhmina Aesthetic Clinic?

Our treatments are led by Susha Shrestha, our Level 7 qualified Advanced Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner (Harley Academy trained), and Mina Khadka Bantha Magar, our Senior Aesthetic Practitioner Nurse with over five years of dedicated aesthetic experience — including practice in Dubai alongside plastic surgeons and dermatologists. Both bring extensive NHS clinical backgrounds in A&E and intensive care. This isn't a beauty salon — aesthetic medicine is what we do, full stop.

Do I need a consultation before having a treatment?

Yes, always. We won't carry out any treatment without a proper consultation first — that's non-negotiable for us. It's not a formality either. We use that time to really understand what's bothering you, go through your medical history, look at your skin properly, and work out what's actually going to make a difference for you. Sometimes what people come in asking for isn't quite what they need, and we'd rather have that honest conversation upfront.

Are anti-wrinkle injections safe?

Yes — when they're done properly, by someone with the right training. In the UK, anti-wrinkle injections are a prescription-only medicine, which means legally they have to be prescribed by a qualified prescriber before treatment. At Suhmina Aesthetic Clinic, all our injectables are carried out under full medical oversight. What we'd say is: please don't choose a clinic based on price alone. The person holding the needle needs to understand facial anatomy deeply — the difference between a safe, natural-looking result and a complication often comes down to exactly that.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

Honestly, it depends — and anyone who gives you a fixed number without assessing you first isn't being straight with you. Most of our patients need somewhere between 6 and 8 sessions to see really significant, lasting reduction. What affects that number is your hair colour and thickness, your skin tone, which area we're treating, and whether there are any hormonal factors involved like PCOS. We use Nd:YAG, Alexandrite, and Diode laser technology, which covers all skin types safely — including darker skin tones. We'll give you a realistic picture at your consultation.

What's the difference between skin boosters and dermal fillers?

They get confused a lot, and they're actually quite different things. Fillers are about adding structure and volume — if you've lost fullness in your cheeks, your lips have thinned, or you've got hollowing under your eyes, fillers restore what's been lost. Skin boosters are about improving the quality of the skin itself — hydration, elasticity, the kind of healthy glow that makes your skin look well rather than altered. Both use hyaluronic acid, but they work at different depths and do different jobs. Lots of our patients benefit from both. We'll help you figure out which makes sense for your concerns at consultation.

Do you treat acne scars and stretch marks?

Yes — both are things we see regularly. For scarring, we treat acne scars, surgical scars, keloid scars, chickenpox scars, and burn scars. For stretch marks, we work on post-pregnancy stretch marks and stretch marks on the abdomen, legs, arms, and other areas. The right approach depends entirely on the type and severity of what you're dealing with — some scars respond well to microneedling, others need a different approach. We'll assess everything properly before recommending anything.

When should I start thinking about anti-ageing treatments?

Earlier than most people think — but not for the reasons you might expect. We're not suggesting starting aggressive treatments young. What we do advocate for is taking your skin seriously from your mid-20s onwards: good medical-grade skincare, proper sun protection, maybe some light collagen-supporting treatments. Collagen production starts declining from around 25, and it's much easier to maintain what you have than to try to reverse significant loss later. That said, there's no wrong time to start — we work with patients across every age range.

What skin concerns do you treat?

Quite a wide range. Pigmentation is a big one for us — melasma, sun damage, hormonal pigmentation, uneven skin tone. Melasma in particular is something we have a lot of experience with; it's one of the trickier conditions to treat safely and we take a careful, evidence-based approach to it. Beyond that we treat acne, dehydration, loss of elasticity, early ageing, redness, and a range of texture concerns. If you're not sure whether we can help with something specific, just get in touch and ask.

What hair restoration treatments do you offer?

We offer PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), Exosome Therapy, Microneedling for the scalp, LED Light Therapy, and tailored protocols developed after a thorough scalp analysis. Hair loss has many different causes, and the right treatment depends on what's driving yours — whether that's androgenic alopecia, stress-related shedding, nutritional factors, or something else. We don't take a one-size-fits-all approach here. We look at what's actually happening with your scalp and hair cycle before recommending anything.

Is laser hair removal safe for darker skin tones?

Yes — with the right technology and the right practitioner. Some older laser systems carry real risks for darker skin, which is why the technology you're treated with matters. We use Nd:YAG, Alexandrite, and Diode lasers — a combination specifically suited to treating all skin tones safely. Every patient is assessed individually and we adjust settings appropriately for your skin tone and hair type. If you've been told elsewhere that laser isn't suitable for your skin, it's worth getting a second opinion from a clinic with the right equipment.

What is RF Microneedling and how is it different from regular microneedling?

Standard microneedling creates tiny controlled injuries in the skin that trigger your body's natural collagen repair response. It's effective for texture, scarring, and early ageing. RF Microneedling does the same thing, but adds radiofrequency energy delivered through the needles into the deeper layers of the skin — which generates heat and produces a more significant tightening and remodelling effect. It's particularly good for skin laxity, enlarged pores, and moderate acne scarring. The results are generally more pronounced than standard microneedling, though the treatment is also a step up in intensity.

How long do dermal filler results last?

We'll always be honest about this: it varies more than most clinics will tell you. The typical quoted range is 9 to 18 months, and that's genuinely true — but where you land in that range depends on your metabolism, which area was treated, how much product was used, and your lifestyle. Some patients find their results last longer after several treatments as the tissue responds over time. We'll give you realistic expectations at your appointment rather than quoting a fixed number that may not apply to you.

Where are you based, and do you see patients from across Hampshire and Surrey?

We're at 103 High Street, Aldershot, Hampshire, GU11 1BY — conveniently placed for clients across both Hampshire and Surrey. We regularly see patients from Farnborough, Fleet, Guildford, Farnham, Basingstoke, Camberley, Woking, and further afield. Aldershot is well connected by road and rail, and there is parking nearby. If you're travelling a distance to see us, just let us know when you book and we'll make sure we allocate enough time for a thorough consultation.

Do you treat male patients?

Absolutely. Around a third of our patients are men, and that number's been growing steadily. The concerns are often slightly different — men typically come in about early lines, skin quality, jaw definition, hair thinning, or body contouring — and facial anatomy differs between men and women in ways that affect how we approach treatment. We're experienced in working with male patients and take a considered approach to aesthetics that fits the result you're actually after.

How do I book a consultation?

You can book online through our booking form, call us on 01483 906571, or email suhminaaesthetic@gmail.com. We're also on Fresha if that's easier for you. Consultations are required before all treatments — they're not a hard sell, they're genuinely how we make sure we're recommending the right things for you. There's no obligation to proceed after the consultation, and we won't pressure you into anything.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

All appointments require a £50 deposit to secure your booking — we're unable to confirm an appointment without this. If your plans change, please give us at least 12–24 hours' notice so we can offer the slot to someone else. We're happy to accommodate a reschedule a couple of times, but if this becomes a repeated pattern, we may need to cancel the appointment. Please note deposits are non-refundable if you cancel, and completed treatments cannot be refunded.

Is there parking near the clinic?

We don't have our own dedicated parking, but there's paid parking directly opposite the clinic, just a short walk from our door. Aldershot is also well connected by road and rail if you'd prefer to travel in from Hampshire or Surrey without driving.

What hygiene and safety standards do you follow?

We follow UK clinical hygiene and safety standards throughout — single-use, sterile equipment for every treatment, medical-grade products, and full infection control protocols. All treatments are carried out or overseen by our qualified nurse practitioners, and prescription-only medicines are prescribed and administered under proper medical oversight, in line with UK regulations.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your first visit includes a full consultation, a patch test, and — if everything checks out and you're happy to proceed — the treatment itself, all in the same appointment. It typically takes 30 minutes to an hour. In some cases, we may ask you to get a GP referral before we can start treatment, if we feel that's needed for your safety.

Do you offer payment plans, and what payment methods do you accept?

Yes — for treatment packages, we offer the option to split payment into 2–3 instalments, arranged directly with us in-clinic. We accept all major payment methods, including card, cash, and bank transfer.

What is an aesthetic clinic, and how is it different from a beauty salon?

An aesthetic clinic delivers medical-grade cosmetic treatments under clinical governance, typically led or overseen by a registered nurse, doctor or dentist. A beauty salon cannot legally administer prescription-only medicines such as Botox without a qualified prescriber involved.

Nurse-led vs. doctor-led clinic — who should perform Botox or fillers?

Both a nurse prescriber and a doctor can independently assess, prescribe and administer treatments like Botox. What matters more than the base profession is the individual practitioner's specific aesthetic training and experience.

What is the UK's new licensing law for aesthetic treatments?

England has confirmed a new local-authority licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures under Section 180 of the Health and Care Act 2022. Medium-risk procedures like Botox and fillers will require a qualified prescriber or oversight from one, with a Level 7 qualification expected to become the benchmark. The scheme is confirmed but not yet in force.

How much do anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers cost?

Anti-wrinkle injections start from £150 for one area, £249 for two areas, and £349 for three areas. Dermal fillers start from £199 for 0.5ml lip filler, rising to £249 for a full ml of lip, cheek, chin/jaw or nasolabial filler. Exact pricing depends on the area treated and product used.

How do I choose a safe aesthetic clinic?

Ask what prescribing qualification the practitioner holds, and check whether they're listed on a recognised register such as Save Face or the JCCP. Be wary of a clinic that skips the consultation or won't explain risks candidly.

Are Botox and dermal fillers completely risk-free?

No treatment is entirely risk-free. Botox can cause temporary bruising, asymmetry, or rarely drooping if injected incorrectly. Fillers carry a small risk of lumps, infection, or very rarely vascular occlusion, which is why practitioner anatomical knowledge matters more than the product itself.
